Girls Friendly Society (known as GFS in many parts of the world) is a worldwide organisation within the Anglican Communion. We provide ministries in a safe and accepting environment where Christ’s love is evident and the Gospel is proclaimed. Initially formed for women and girls, today there is a growing male membership in some countries.

Theme Statement

Rooted in the love of Christ and united across nations, cultures, and generations, we gather as one fellowship to celebrate the truth that with God all things are possible. In a world marked by division, uncertainty, and injustice, we are called to walk together in faith, strengthened by courage, and renewed in purpose.

As members of the Girls Friendly Society, we affirm the gifts and dignity of every girl and woman, recognizing that each person is an essential part of the Body of Christ. Guided by the Holy Spirit and grounded in the Anglican tradition of prayer, service, and community, we seek to encourage one another, deepen our discipleship, and become witnesses of hope in the world.

Together, we believe God is still creating new possibilities: healing divisions, raising new leaders, nurturing friendship across borders, and calling us into lives of compassion, justice, and joyful service.

Gracious and loving God, you call us from every nation and community to live as one people in Jesus Christ.

Pour out your Holy Spirit upon this gathering of the Girls Friendly Society. Strengthen us in faith, give us courage for the work before us, and unite us in love and purpose.

Where there is fear, plant hope.

Where there is division, build understanding.

Where there is weariness, renew joy.

Open our hearts to one another and our lives to your mission in the world, that together we may reflect the light of Christ with compassion, wisdom, and boldness.   For with you, O God, all things are possible, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
