We have a dedicated team of volunteer leaders who undergo statutory Police vetting, mandatory training in all aspects of the Anglican Church’s Safeguarding Procedures together with completing compulsory statutory training in safeguarding children aged under 18 years. Leadership training together with First Aid and Mental Health training is provided.
GFS is structured within local branches who then come together within their respective Dioceses. GFS is administered centrally from the Central Office located in Dublin. GFS in Ireland benefits from being an All island organisation that consists of two separate legal jurisdictions and currencies. Accommodation is also provided for girls who are in their first year of third level education or who are working in Dublin. This is a vital support for them as they transition to independent living in Dublin.
Members aged over 21years belong to the ‘Townsend Group’ and there are a number of Townsend branches offering support, fun and fellowship to these members who are very much young at heart.
GFS in Ireland, enjoys the patronage of the Archbishops of Armagh and Dublin.
GFS in Ireland values the support and friendship received and given through the GFS family worldwide.
